Track Classification for Graduate Degree Programs
(Master’s and Doctorate Levels):
Master’s Degree Programs:
Programs without the word “Arts” in the degree title (e.g., Master in Counseling, Master in Psychology) are considered Non-Thesis Program or Professional Track programs. International Publication is not required.
Programs with the word “Arts” in the degree title (e.g., Master of Arts in Psychology, Master of Arts in Counseling) are categorized under the Academic Track or Thesis Program, which includes a thesis requirement with publicly defended and international publication.
Doctoral Degree Programs:
Programs with the word “Philosophy” in the degree title (e.g., Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology) are part of the Academic Track or Dissertation Writing. These programs require public defense dissertation and international publication as part of the academic and research output.
Programs without the word “Philosophy” (e.g., Doctor in Professional Counseling, Doctor of Psychology) are classified under the Professional Track which is practice-based, and do not require international publication and public defense dissertation.
